Executive Coaching & Mentoring

Executive Coaching is at its most effective when used to help individuals in any kind of business to address specific personal development issues; and/or to prepare them for taking on a particularly challenging work role or project. It is especially appropriate for those in senior positions who have little time and may experience some isolation at the top of their business or profession.

Coaching is driven by the needs of the client, in particular the goals defined at the beginning of the process. It is about helping individuals to achieve their full potential and to deal with or instigate change.

Examples of specific benefits include:

 •  preparation for role/career changes
 •  managing stress, change, conflict or crisis
 •  enhancing personal impact and performance
 •  planning the next step in career development

Mentoring represents a different kind of journey for the client as distinct from coaching. It offers a client an opportunity to problem solve or share new ideas with a neutral third party who has some knowledge of and empathy with their business environment. This can be a valuable process, producing fresh insights and powerful thinking, driven by the needs of the client.

Jules Boardman’s career up to 2005 was divided between the arts and commerce, two disciplines which he has combined to form the basis of his coaching and mentoring practice.

He worked for The National Theatre for twelve years in a variety of administrative roles, initially for Sir Laurence Olivier at the Old Vic and subsequently for Sir Peter Hall in the South Bank building where he became Deputy General Administrator.

In 1981 he co-founded Ticketmaster in the UK and spent 20 years building the company into a highly successful market leader and household name. More recently he has been Chief Executive and Consultant to Dewynters, the leading advertising and marketing agency in West End theatre and the arts. In 2004/2005 he gained an Executive Coaching Diploma in association with Management Futures and the Institute of Leadership and Management.

Coaching and mentoring clients to date have included Tate, Royal Academy, Barbican Centre, NESTA, Arts & Business, CASS (London) Business School, Creative Partnerships/ACE, Clore Leadership Programme, ACE Cultural Leadership Programme, British Council. Jules’s skills and experience, combined with his continuous personal development programme, have equipped him to coach and mentor executives in any business environment.
